A TARDIS key has a multitude of functionalities once attuned to a TARDIS.
How to attune a TARDIS key
Interact with the computer bank on any console unit with the key to attune it to the TARDIS. A key may be attuned to multiple TARDISs at once. 
Cycling between TARDISs
Crouch interact with the key to cycle the TARDIS you would like to be used when interacting with blocks such as the Landing Pad.
